So this happened to me today. I received this message informing me “MY” Instagram account doesn’t follow their rules. I have no idea who aelizabeth_mehyh3821 is. I’ve been Rick Ladd on FB since approximately 2005. That’s my name on IG and Threads as well. So I clicked on “Log into your Instagram account”.
This (below) was the message I received. Sounds pretty final, eh? Then I checked my Threads account, where I’ve been pretty active for the past year and a half or so. Guess what I encountered.
Call me crazy. This doesn’t seem to leave my any avenue within which to challenge or appeal this decision. Since I’ve been on FB for something like twenty years I’ve got tons of content that is now lost to me, apparently forever.
Truth to tell, I’m not all that bothered by losing access to FB after all this time. Zuckerberg has turned out to be just another cowardly billionaire who’s clueless about his users, except for the ones who worship him. I will miss the connection it provides with my family, but I’ve already created another account to get back together with those who mean the most to me.
I can’t help thinking, however, that this is a form of punishment as I’ve been very vocal politically and have made my disdain for Trump and his sycophants, bootlickers, and straphangers, as well as Zuck and Musk, who I’ve shared an awful lot of informative content about, well known. I doubt they have the courage to tell me that’s the reason, if it is.
Looks like I’ll have to find other tools with which to plot resistance against this regime, of which Zuck is an integral part.

Rick, I am reeling from this, thinking about the devastating implications. Another way to “shut us up” among their other cruel and calculated methods. I hope your story receives wider, global airplay.
